I studied Italian for two years before I traveled abroad to Italy in the summer of 2024. On this trip, we were in a classroom five days out of the week, in a kitchen two nights out of the week, and wandering the streets of Siena in our free time. I knew going into the summer that I wanted to complete some sort of project outside of my regular exploratory photography, but I didn’t know what to shoot until the last few weeks of the program. It was then that I realized how crucial my peers were to the experience. The trip wouldn’t have meant as much as it did if it weren’t for the amazing individuals I had the pleasure to call my travel companions.
